Welcome to the Dorothea Dix UU Community

Fellowship Activities

Humanist Forum

The Humanist Forum meets at 7 p.m. every second Friday of the month at 39 Park St. in Bordentown, home of the Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Community (DDUUC). It was started by a card-carrying Humanist and Unitarian since college, me (Roger Long). Most Fridays about 10 people come to discuss the topic of the night. This very informal group consists mainly of members of DDUUC, but also includes others who are uncomfortable with any kind of church service, god or no god. We welcome all, and we appreciate and respect diversity. And, by the way, many UU churches have monthly meetings during or after coffee hour.
We have suggested monthly themes, and we vent — mainly about keeping church and state separate, about religious interference with human rights and needs, and about the many dumb, annoying, dangerous, and evil things done in the name of god. We don’t eat or drink, or light candles. Just talk.

If you’re interested and want to do your homework, jut Google the American Humanist, or Humanism.

Or e-mail me, Roger Long, at rololong@optonline.net.

Spirit Circle

We are the Spirit Circle. We are a group of individuals interested in exploring different paths of Nature Based Spirituality. Although most of us come from Christian based backgrounds, we are not defined by this.

We think of ourselves in many ways; Christian, Pagan, Humanist, even Wiccan. But we do not let titles limit us in our honest search for truth and understanding.

Some of the discussions we have had include Chakras, Pendulums, Pagans vs. Wiccans, Tarot and Runes, and everything else under the sun and moon and stars.

The universe is a vast mystery. There are many things that exist and we are curious about them all.

If you would like to join us, we meet the third Monday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Community, 39 Park Street, Bordentown, NJ.

Tuunitarians

The Tuunitarians are a singing group made up of members of the Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Community. We perform singalong type songs for DDUUC services.

Musical knowledge and a great singing voice are not required to be a member of the Tuunitarians — but a love for singing is!

The group meets every Tuesday night from 6:30-8:00 p.m. (Check the calendar on ddixuu.com.) Everyone is welcome to join us and come and sing along.
